Callouses

Calluses are foot conditions that are caused when dead skin cells harden, thicken and accumulate over an area of the foot. The body uses callus formation as a precautionary measure to prevent extreme pressure from affecting the foot, a good foot cream my help with prevention. The foot condition in which calluses form with nucleation, a deep-seated core is known as Intractable Plantar Keratosis.

Obesity, high arched feet, flat feet, bony prominences, excessive pressure on the foot and wearing high-heeled shoes lead to callus formation.

Using an orthotic made of shock and friction-absorbing materials, prevents callus formation by relieving excessive pressure. Foot surgery is the ultimate option for treatment of persistent calluses formation.
