Athlete's Foot
Athlete’s foot is a misnomer , for it is mostly found in the young people and adults who tend to sweat more. Normally, athlete's foot affects the soles of the feet as well as the area between the toes. It may also spread to the groin or underarms and then spread to other areas of the body.
The fungi causing athlete’s foot are aggravated in warm and moist environments. Therefore, the problem is more often in the people who wear tight-fitting trainers and don’t dry their feet. The signs and symptoms of athlete’s foot include redness, itching, burning and stinging on the soles of the feet. In some cases the skin may also peel, crack, flake or blister. However, it is contagious and can spread through skin contact or through shoes, towels, floors etc. |
